Train with Us
School-Centred Initial Teacher Training (SCITT)
We are delighted to be able to train the next generation of teachers through our Initial Teacher Training (ITT) programme. We have been involved in successfully training teachers of the future for about 10 years and many of them go on to be employed in our schools and within schools across the region, nationally and internationally.
We work within the Five Counties Teaching School Hub Alliance in association with Sheffield Hallam University, training teachers across the primary and secondary age range every year. The majority of the course is based within schools, with the teaching component being mainly located at our teaching college based at Priory Community School just off Junction 21 of the M5.
Across our partner schools, in Somerset, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire, you will have access to hundreds of teachers and thousands of students to help you learn and gain experience as you train. Of the 180+ trainees that have qualified with us since 2018, all are employed in schools or in education settings across the UK.
If you have a degree and are keen to find out more, we would love to hear from you! Please get in contact: teachertraining@pathwaytrust.uk.
Foundation Degree with Centre for Children's Workforce
Launching in September 2026, we are proud to be partnering with the Centre for Children's Workforce to offer a flexible two-year higher education qualification for people already working with children.
The degree allows people already working with children to learn alongside their job, resulting in Level 4 and 5 qualifications which provide a gateway to graduate jobs in multiple sectors.
Our local sessions, for our first cohort, are running weekly in term time from The King Alfred School, 4-8pm with occasional online sessions to build understanding with the national cohort.
For more information or to speak to someone about the training, please get in contact: foundationdegree@pathwaytrust.uk.
